The key innovation is Anthropic\u2019s new Constitutional AI approach. Unlike other AI systems that are trained on massive datasets scraped from the internet, Claude 2 learns in a more focused, principled way. The system is given a set of fundamental values, social norms, and common sense reasoning abilities from the start. The assistant can pick up on humor, sarcasm, and subtle cues that might go over the heads of AI like Google\u2019s LaMDA. Claude 2 is also designed to avoid toxic or unethical dialog. While the original Claude had some ability to recall context and facts, Claude 2 has much more robust memory networks. Tests show Claude 2 rated higher for human-likeness compared to competitive systems.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap\">The Constitutional AI approach also gives<a href=\"https:\/\/www.anthropic.com\/index\/claude-2\"> Claude 2<\/a> some advantages when it comes to trust and transparency.
